St James Mill Creek Episcopal Church estimates that there are 33 Revolutionary War soldiers buried in there cemetery. The church is holding a symposium to show parishoners and other interested parties how to clean headstones so that the stones can be cleaned in time for a possible unveiling around Memorial Day Weekend 2026.

January speaker Bill Knightly returns to share with us the details of his research into a mass grave of 28 Rhode Island Revolutionary War Patriots buried in the Wilmington Brandywine cemetery. He discovered the names of all 28 along with the names of 5 British officers buried with them in the same mass grave. He and President Bob Cochran will share details about a ceremony being planned by the City of Wilmington to dedicate the mass grave in September of this year and the Jaquett Chapter's role in the ceremony.

Join us as we celebrate the 4th in Dover. There likely will be a parade earlier that day, but we will have our celebration and a patriot grave marking, tenatively identified as Frances Maney, a Captain in the Kent County militia whose grave is right outside the front door of the church.
